Get Complete Hockey World Cup 2010 Schedule Dates here. New Delhi’s Dhyan Chand Stadium will be at the center of the most elite hockey event in the world. The twelfth edition of Men’s Hockey World cup will be held in the year 2010 in New Delhi between February 28 and March 13.

While earlier, it had become difficult for India to gain the hosting rights as it failed to stand up to the directives of World Hockey Federation. On 18th July, 2008, the rights were finally provided to India on grounds of thorough improvement in infrastructure and associated demands of a world schedule.

In 2009 and 2010, three qualifying tournaments will be held. Malaysia, New Zealand and France are arranging these three tournaments. Having said this, Malaysia is yet to be guaranteed the hosting rights.  Talking of automatic qualifications, the hosts along with 5 champions from five continental confederations get a default berth.

Already passions are running high and Indian hockey men are all geared up to reinstall their might on a global level. India has a superb record in Olympics and the game has definitely spiraled downwards barring some top performances that have been few and far between. According to IHF chief Mr. KPS Gill, the venue short listed for the tournament will soon begin undergoing massive renovations for successful conduction of the tournament.

On December 15th, 2009 the 2010 Men’s Hockey World Cup Teams were divided into 2 Pools in New Delhi, India as shown below;
