Australia vs England: October 02, 2009 I Semi Finals Champions Trophy 2009 Preview. Once again Ashes arch rivals England and Australia will play on a different ground but and with different mind frame. Its just 10 days back the two teams played last ODI of the NatWest Series, and so many things changed ever since the conclusion of NatWest series.

To me though it doesn’t feel like one deserving semi finals of Champions Trophy. England fans will not appreciate my comment, but they are just lucky to be in the last 4.

Anyways Centurion will host the first semi finals of the Champions Trophy. The batting-favored pitch will not change drastically for the semi finals and we can expect good score should the teams apply common sense and should the weather love to see a full match; sadly there is a forecast for rain and/or thunder.

Although Australia didn’t show their best they could sneak into the semifinals beating the in form Pakistan. Aussies is also the only team that’s unbeaten in the tournament so far. They however seem to still depend on Ponting’s form and Hussey’s anchoring. Watson hasn’t been successful here and Clarke’s absence is clearly felt. The team will draw inspiration from the concluded NatWest series and will bounce back

England on the other hand is cheering on their sting like bowling on bowler friendly pitches. They are better than the best team when all work in their favor and they need to buck up and take inspiration from the Ashes win and the last ODI with Aussies in the NatWest; they probably can outclass mighty Australians. In all, there will be loadful of excitement awaiting.
