Caroline Wozniacki vs Yanina Wickmayer US open 2009 Semifinals Live Score

Caroline Wozniacki vs Yanina Teen arrivistes Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark and Belgium’s Yanina Wickmayer fought well to reach the semifinals scenario at this year’s US Open. This is their respective first Grand Slam semifinals event and both the teen upstarts faced some nerve-testing battles to be here. The ninth-seed Wozniacki who had never reached last four of any Grand Slam tournament ousted US teen sensation Melanie Oudin who stunned Sharapova fans winning against her in the third round. It was straight sets for Wozniacki. The Belgian though had never gone past the second round of any Grand Slam event surprisingly finds herself here in the last 4 after beating Ukraine’s Kateryna Bondarenko 7-5 and 6-4.

Both the players at the end of their teens(19 years of age) will meet on Friday and the winner will meet the winner between world number two seed Serena or Belgian comeback mother Kim Clijsters.

Wozniacki received great cheers at the Arthur Ashe stadium when she won against the local upstart Melanie. She was quoted of saying: It was important for me to keep positive. I knew if I showed emotion she was going to pick up on it.”

Ranked 50, Wickmayer joins fellow Belgian Clijsters and the two become unseeded players reaching the last 4 at the Flushing Meadows. Now these are to be Phoenixes here, seriously.
