The 32 teams that qualified will be drawn into groups at the final draw that will happen in Cape Town on Friday, December 04, 2009. There were close contenders to conduct the final draw among cities including Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg; with Cape Town winning the close race and it being preferred to other cities for the final draw. This was announced by the chairman Khoza.

According to Jerome Valcke, the Secretary General of FIFA the decision to pick Cape Town over other cities has been almost unanimous. With already some expectations that Cape Town will be host to a semi-final for the World Cup 2010, this becomes a prelude to the big event ahead.

How does the draw actually work?

Once the seeded nations list come out, as of now its certain that England team is seeded. The 32 teams that qualified will be drawn and then set into 8 groups each group comprising of 4 teams; the top 2 teams from each group will go to knockout stage, and here there will be 16 teams.
