Italian Grand Prix 2009 -  Preview

Formula One enthusiast will not want to miss the opportunity of following the race at the Monza track which is indeed very fast track with just 4 turns implying there will be not much of down force. The track also challenges engineers as it calls for giving a set up to the cars for stabilizing the brakes and take kerb weight so good lap time could be achieved. The race which is 13th in the Formula One season of 2009 is scheduled for September the 13th.

Autodromo Nazionale Monza, Italy is the permanent racing facility with a course length 5.793 km, and the race spread over 53 laps. There were thoughts to shift the Italian Grand Prix to Rome, but after severe opposition Monza, the oldest on the GP circuit had been retained.

The venue has the credit of finest racing track but sadly has also seen some of the worst Formula One accidents.

Last season it was Sebastian Vettel who finished first for Toro Rosso. With the win Vettel became the youngest racer to ever win a Formula One race.

Friday, September 11, 2009 will be practice day and Saturday will be qualifying and Sunday the race day. There are talks of Lucas Badoer being rested for the Monza by the Ferrari, but it is not confirmed as yet.
