The series seems to be well poised with both teams winning two games each in the 7 ODI series contest; each time win favoring one team, no wonder the entertainment and fever catching up to peak.

The fourth ODI in Mohali could have been an easy victory for India if at all the top order batsmen had played with some momentum especially, Sachin who had to play a matured innings got out after making decent 30 runs. India won the toss and captain MS Dhoni gave the Aussies a chance to bat first, and they posed an average total of 250. As to the Indian bowling, Ashish Nehra had been the pick of them taking 3 wickets and Harbhajan Singh took a couple of wickets but overall the bowlers and the fielders did a commendable job to restrict the mighty Aussies to mere 250 on the board.

Australia left India to chase 251 at just 5 runs an over; very much an achievable target looked like for team India after two consecutive victories. But then there seemed to have carried away with those successes and the Indian batsmen showed what domino effect was; fell like pack of cards.

The turning for the Indians was Sachin’s LBW which had been an incorrect decision given by the umpire and it did prove dearly to the Indians. Heroics from Harbhajan and Praveen Kumar’s batting gave some last minute hope to the fans, but the Aussies were quick to realize that the match was leaning towards India and put the pressure on the tail order to only see all of the Indian wickets falling, giving them a thrilling 24-run victory to the Aussies much to the delight of captain Ricky Ponting. By the end of the game batting contribution by Ponting, Hussey and White made a lot of difference and even the bowlers came hard when it was crucial, which gave the Aussies the much wanted victory.

The 5th ODI is head to head and both the teams will need a desperate win and it is a tough call to make. After the previous win the Aussies will be on fire but the men in blue might just spoil the party for the Kangaroos.
