Latest Update: The Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium will not host any international Cricket match until the end of 2010 following the ICC’s report that the pitch on which the abandoned ODI between India vs Sri Lanka was played last month was “dangerous” and should be classified “unfit”. However, Kotla ground will be able to host matches during the 2011 World Cup.
Established in 1883, the Ferozeshah Kotla stadium, controlled by the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) underwent a massive facelift in 2007.
It hosted its first day and night international match last month when India took on Australia. But it has hosted Tests and day ODI’s regularly before the floodlights were installed in 2008 for the inaugural edition of the IPL.

IPL 3 Ticket Prices: With the third edition of the Indian Premier League -- IPL 2010 all set to return back home, after being held in South Africa in 2009, ticket prices for the Twenty20 extravaganza are expected to be priced anywhere in the price range of Rs.250 – Rs.2500.
After a major facelift and the installation of the floodlights, the Ferozeshah Kotla has hosted every match of a series. Be it the series against Pakistan, the IPL, Test series against Australia or the ongoing one-day series against Australia, every time the Ferozeshah Kotla has emerged as a winner.
Route to Stadium: Located in the eastern part of the city on the Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, the Ferozeshah Kotla is easily connected with each and every part of the national capital.
Overlooking the remains of the historical Ferozeshah Kotla Fort on one side and the Ambedkar Stadium on the other, the stadium is a resemblance of history and modernity.
There are more than 13 gates to enter the Ferozeshah Kotla and the newly constructed three tier stands have increased the seating capacity of the stadium to 50,000 seats.
There are ample parking facilities available and a vacant land in front of the adjoining fort is used as a parking lot by the local administration during international matches and the IPL.
The Feroz shah Kotla has all the modern training facilities for the teams. A separate practice arena for the net sessions just outside the dressing room and a multigym, which is one of the best in the city, makes the Ferozeshah Kotla a modern stadium.
The stadium also has a spacious Press Box and a luxurious Corporate Box, which has been bought by Hero Honda and GMR, owner of Delhi Daredevils.
