kings xi punjab ipl 2010Kings XI Punjab is one of the consistent IPL teams based in Mohali owned by Preity Zinta, Ness Wadia, Karan Paul & Mohit Burman. As an icon player of Punjab, Yuvraj Singh leads the kings XI.

Kings XI Punjab’s has other key players like Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene, Simon Katich, Brett Lee, James Hopes, Irfan Pathan and Shaun Marsh.

In the first edition of IPL Kings XI Punjab got a slow start with two losses in their first two matches. After that, they showed their potential through the entire season and secured consecutive nine victories that helped them to clinch a birth in the semifinal. Shaun Marsh became the highest run scorer of the tournament. But in the semi final, they had a nightmare and were defeated by Chennai Super Kings.

In the IPL 09 season they had major ups and downs with every single match. They secured the fifth place in the league table. However, their captain Yuvraj Singh showed once again his potential with the bowl along with his blistering batting. He got two hat- tricks against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Deccan Chargers in the IPL 09. They had a chance of qualifying for the semi- finals but they failed miserably to deliver the goods against a spirited Chennai side, a match which they needed to win to reach the semis.
