Jenson Button agrees to join McLaren on three-year, £6m-a-year deal

McLaren unites Lewis Hamilton & Jenson Button
F1 World Champion for 2009, Jenson Button will join McLaren to be Lewis Hamilton’s partner for the next season.
The Guardian newspaper said it “understands that the world champion has turned his back on Brawn following protracted negotiations” and will almost double his salary at McLaren.
After failed negotiations with Brawn it is understood that Jenson Button switched his gears to the McLaren camp. McLaren on the other hand were willing to double Button’s salary.
According to a report released today, Button has inked in a £6 million (about $10 millions) deal and might have a 3-year contract in what will be a totally-British lineup for team McLaren.
The 29-year-old driver took a tour of the factory of McLarens last Friday and it was after his guided tour and negotiations that followed later that the deal clicked.
The 2010 Formula One season is already drawing so much of an attention and Button teaming with Lewis Hamilton makes it even more exciting for the fans and even other teams. The two have been driving for competing teams and to have them in one team like McLaren means double whammy for McLaren and zing thing for fans.
