Kim Clijsters US Open 2009 Winner

Belgium’s Kim Clijsters beats Caroline Wozniacki 7-5 6-3 to win the US Open 2009 Womens Singles.

US Open Womens singles finals winner is comeback mother Belgian star Kim Clijsters. She won it easy in straight sets 7-5 and 6-3 against Caroline Wozniacki who played her first ever Grand Slam finals.

Kim Clijsters also becomes first ever to win the finals here at US Open with a wild card entry. She came to the Flushing Meadows unseeded, with the hope to get back into rhythm. She says she had never had expectations of winning it. But from match one we saw the swift and crafty player that she always was and she was no different even after coming from break. She is a gifted player to be so agile and she plays by reading opponents game.

The 26-year-old ace from Belgium also acknowledged the good player in Denmark’s Caroline Wozniacki and said that she will be a new add to the tennis talent. The winning shot saw Kim falling on knees to the ground and her young daughter shouting loudly “Mama.”

It was an ecstatic moment that even crowds enjoyed and cheered. Kim Clijsters becomes first mother to win US Open singles title and it should do a world of good to her confidence.
