Kim Clijsters defeated Justine Henin to win the Brisbane International Finals

Justine Henin and Kim Clijsters reach Brisbane final. The former number one champions of tennis Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin will come face to face in the finals of the Brisbane International tennis tournament on the 9th January 2010.

The seven times grand slam winner Henin defeated Serbia’s Ana Ivanovic in straight sets; 6-3, 6-2 after making a comeback in this event since her retirement in May 2008.

Kim Clijsters had won last year’s US Open title, which marked her emphatic return to the tennis court. Clijsters had a comfortable win against Germany’s Andrea Petkovic with a score of 6-4, 6-2.

The Belgian players have had 22 encounters so far and Henin has an advantage of 12-10 over Clijsters. Justine Henin has played four matches in the span of five days and she seems to be in prime form and her fitness level looks excellent.

The final match on Saturday will be a test for both the players and make their comeback count seriously but to predict the result of this match is next to impossible.
