Liverpool agree to sale of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid
Liverpool almost reaches an agreement with Spanish football club Real Madrid as regards the sale of the Reds’ midfielder Xabi Alonso.
According to official website of Liverpool the deal reaches agreement and in case Alonso passes medical fitness test on Wednesday, it will go through completely.
However, there are no details as regards to the money that will change hands through the deal. They are for now confidential although it could be around £30 million according to some inside sources, if ever they could be believable.
The 27-year-old midfielder from Spain joined Liverpool in 2004 from Real Sociedad and ever since he stuck to the Reds. Last season Alonso had been quite consistent and his partnership with Javier Mascherano always sizzled.
Should the deal go through, Xabi Alonso will join likes of big names in soccer including Ronaldo and Kaka.
