Watch Nascar Carfax 400 Sprint Cup Series 2010 -- Live Stream -- Watch Free Streaming Online: The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series presents the Carfax 400 being the second stock car race held at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan. Commencing in 1969 as a 600 mile race, it has since been held as a 400.
The Carfax 400 has some interesting history: Beginning 1998 to 2002, it was called the Pepsi 400 but had another sponsor behind the event, probably to avoid confusion with the Daytona 400. For 2007, the race was renamed as the 3M Performance 400 when 3M and Post-it transferred their sponsorship from the Citizens Bank 400 to the August race.
* 1994: The great Geoff Bodine scooped the winnings in the Yankee 400 on Hoosier Tires while Indycar oldtimer John Andretti astonished crowds qualifying second in Richard Petty’s Pontiac after Wally Dallenbach, Jr. was released, but the story of the weekend was an appalling crash in practice that left Ernie Irvan fighting for life.
* 1998: Irvan was dominant, but Jeff Gordon eventually won. However, due to family bereavement, Mark Martin was denied the win.
* 1999: Goodyear introduced new tires to Michigan designed for Fontana for Winston West racing, to compete with the classic Hoosier Tire. The new tire featured greater stagger and handled more like bias ply tires than radials. Dale Earnhardt won the lead late and got into a spirited battle with Bobby Labonte before Labonte cleared for the win.
