New South Wales NSW – Champions League T20 Winners 2009
NSW Champions League Twenty20 Winners
New South Wales Blues are the 2009 Champions League Twenty20 Winners

New South Wales Blues are the ACLT20 Champions. They beat Trinidad & Tobago in a convincing fashion to lift the Airtel Champions League Twenty20 trophy and whopping prize money of $2.5 millions
NSW Blues’ pursuit of becoming the CLT20 champions became real after they never allowed the Trinidad and Tobago to chase the 160 runs target; they sent the Caribbean team packing for 118 beating them by 41 runs. Earlier they opened the innings to post what looked like a gettable one by the Trinidad and Tobago; 159.
The New South Wales Blues made 159/9 and the bowling by T&T in the first 10 overs had been amazing. At one point the Blues were reeling at 95/6 but thanks to Lee who wielded his bat today making stunning 48 and Steven Smith contributed 33 with his bat to give some respect to the team’s total. Then Lee swinged the ball along with Nathan Hauritz to send the T&T. Chasing 160 nothing went right for T&T. They lost wickets steadily and regularly and although Kieron Pollard tried to replicate his antics, Nathan Hauritz had tricked me to lose his wicket in the 15th over. Thereafter wickets fell like dominoes.
For his all round antics Brett Lee was deservedly declared man of the match.
