National Rugby League (NRL) is the rugby league clubs of football of the Australasia and comprises competition of domestic level competition in rugby. Otherwise known as Telstra Premiership, the competition is among 16 teams. Out of which 15 clubs are from Australia and one is a New Zealand club team. NRL draws so much crowds and it is indeed one of the world’s most attended rugby tournament.
The NRL matches will be played in Australia and New Zealand commencing from the Autumn and will go on until the Spring. The culmination is of course the NRL Grand Final. Every year the NRL grand final winners will have to play against ESL (European Super League) premiers in what is called as World Club Challenge.
NRL Grand Final 2009 is scheduled to be played at ANZ stadium, Sydney, on October 04, 2009. This is the 12th championship finals of the NRL and it will pick the premiers of this season that will play in World Club Challenge.
The final match is between Melbourne Storm v Parrmatta Eels. The former team is going to finals for the 4th straight time. This year NRL finals will however, see two referees for the first time; the honor given to Shayne Hayne and Tony Archer to be the two referees for the NRL Grand Final 2009.

The statement that these two teams are facing each other for the “4th straight time”, is not correct. Parramatta has never played the Melbourne Storm in a Grand Final before. However, this will be the 4th Grand Final in succession in which Melbourne has taken part. They have won only one of the previous three Grand Finals and have been defeated twice. Go the Parramatta Eels!!
