Australia will play Pakistan in the second Test match at Leeds between the two sides after the first game at Lord’s was won by the Aussies. With a lead of 1-0, the Aussies cannot lose the series from here, given that it is a two-game series only. However, the Aussies, who go into the game after having won eight of their last nine Test matches, will look to ensure that they whitewash the opposition clean.

Pakistan have problems aplenty. They had started off well before the start of the series, and the fans had a lot to look up to under the captaincy of Shahid Afridi. Unfortunately, Pakistan have now lost the services of their skipper Afridi, who decided to retire from this format of the game. After much brouhaha about who was responsible for the situation, Salman Butt has been appointed as the captain of the side and he will look to combine his opening batting along with captaincy against the tough opposition in Australia.

Pakistan may also mull changing their spinner around, and getting in Saeed Ajmal in place of Danish Kaneria.

For Australia, there are no such worries, but injuries are a bit of an issue. Marcus North and Ben Hilfenhaus are both on the physiotherapist’s table and may miss out on the game. North is down with a stomach bug whereas Hilfenhaus injured his shoulder during the game.

Michael Clarke will also bat at the number four position in place of Michael Hussey, whereas the rest of the line-up should remain the same.
