India won against Sri Lanka in their second test match at Kanpur, and Australia won their first test against the West Indies by a margin of innings and 65 runs in Brisbane. The latter was over in just 3 days time.

On the other side, New Zealand had won against Pakistan in the first test on the fifth day. The match went on exciting and Kiwis deserved the won although rain gods swallowed some match overs, on the first and second days.

The series had also used first time the UDRS or the umpire decision review system wherein umpire’s decision is challenged. Shane Bond was man of the match for his 8 wickets and the second test will be played at Wellington’s heritage site, from December 03, 2009. Rain probability of just 10% makes a good chance of full test match and a one can expect a result from the pitch and if the Pakistan team applies focus it will be favoring their side; especially the fast bowlers Aamer, Mohammed Asif and Umar Gul. In batting Misbah-Ul-Haq will replace Younis Khan.

Danish Kaneria might come in as mainstream spinner and his experience should support the fast bowlers.

Bond looks like he is enjoying his game and he is slowly getting back to the rhythm he likes to be. Shane Bond, Chris Martin and lain O’Brien will make a good trio of seamers for the New Zealand side.

In all, both teams look evenly matched at least when it comes to bowling and as regards batting both sides are experiencing inconsistency and fans hope and expect that there should be decent contest between the 2 team.
