Rafael Nadal US open 2009

US Open Tennis 2009 Rafael Nadal. Spanish player Rafael Nadal is back on to the tennis court. Sadly, for him and his fans he had missed the epic 2009 Wimbledon due to a nagging knee injury. But now Nadal will return to play the US open this year. Nadal, Roger Federer and Andy Roddick are among the eight champions who will be playing on the hard court this year.

In fact missing Wimbledon 2009 had cost Rafael Nadal dearly. He had lost his world No.1 position and ranking to his archrival Roger Federer who created a history by winning his 15th Grand Slam in the Wimbledon Queens Court.

The US open 2009, which will take off in August will see the clash of titans and it will be quite interesting to see how Nadal will play to mark his comeback on to the court. Let us not forget the thing that he is World No.2 and only missed the Wimbledon due to his knee problem, so he will be the most watched player.

Nadal fans hope that in this season he might come back with a vengeance. And Nadal’s archrival Federer might already be chalking out game plans and strategies to deal powerful Nadal on court. The only fear for Nadal’s fans would be his knee injury and they will be hoping that he is completely recovered to take on his opponents.

The King of Clay is a strong contestant to watch out for in the US open 2009 but the tournament itself is set to witness some high-drama tennis with great players facing each other, it is so tough to predict who will emerge the champion here.

Men’s tennis has been dull without Rafa playing. He’s a true champion and when he’s in the mix, everyone tries harder and becomes more enthusiastic. Even the sports writers and commentators seem to have lost their bravado without Nadal. If you are a fan, or not, my guess is that it’s hard to be neutral about this young man.

Nadal not in top shape for U.S. Open next week. Rafael Nadal concedes he probably isn’t in peak condition heading into the U.S. Open next week. The Spanish star returned to competition this month after taking off more than two months because of tendinitis in both knees. Now he’s seeking the one major title he hasn’t won.
