F1 Valencia Spain winner- Rubens Barrichello

Rubens Barrichello for Brawn GP drove to podium today to win the Valencia Grand Prix.

With this win, Brazilian Rubens Barrichello claims 10th Formula One victory, and to win the European Grand Prix he drove perfectly even in the soaring heat.

Barrichello, topped beating behind Lewis Hamilton of McLaren by a margin of 2.3 seconds at the Valencia Street Circuit (this is only the second street track after Monaco).

Barrichello was quoted of saying, “I wish this moment could last forever. I want to stay here until Monday.” He sobbed as went past the chequered flag for the sevent win for Brawn in 11 starts. McLaren’s Hamilton finished second and Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen finished third. For Hamilton it was unfortunate and he had to come second for his team’s mistake when he went for pit stop. The team wasn’t ready for Hamilton and not had the tyres and there had been a delay there which gave advantage to the Brazilian to take the chequered flag.

However, it was the Finnish who started the Valencia Street Circuit race from the pole position.

Leader Jenson Button finished seventh but still leads the drivers’ standings with 72 points after 11 races and it was Barrichello’s F1 victory after his victory at the Chinese GP in 2004 still seeing the Brazilian move on to the second with 54 points.
