Sebastian Vettel Wins Japanese Grand Prix 2009. Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull is the winner of Formula One Japanese Grand Prix. This win should once again bloat his hopes for the drivers’ championship this season.
The German driver who started from pole led from the start to the finish.
Jarno Trulli of Toyota and Hamilton of McLaren took the second and third places at the Suzuka Circuit. Kimi Raikkonen finished fourth and Nico Rosberg finished fifth.
The leader of the drivers’ championship, Brawn’s Jenson Button had to be satisfied with eighth place and his team mate Rubens Barrichello finished seventh.
There are only two more races remaining now and in the drivers’ championship, Button leads and is now 14 points lesser than his team mate Barrichello. The Brawn drivers are followed by Vettel who is 2 points behind Barrichello. Button has taken points from almost every race and that gives him edge over winners, although he hasn’t won many races.
Vettel was quoted of his chances for championship: “It can still be done and it is looking much better now.”
This is third win for Vettel this formula one season, and one after a long time after the British Grand Prix.
Jaime Alguersuari of Toro Rosso had a bad crash slamming through the trackside bill hoarding. The formula one now goes to Brazil for the next race and Abu Dhabi will be the last one.
