Serena Williams’s vs Kim Clijsters US Open Semifinals 2009 Live Score, Highlights

Serena Williams vs Kim Clijsters US open 2009

It had been all surprising at the Flushing meadows when Kim Clijsters came back after her maternity break. Even more surprising is that she had come back with a bang; she went to Semi finals to play number seeded Serena Williams.

It will be one interesting encounter at the meadows. Serena Williams defeated tenth seeded Italian Flavia Pennetta in the quarter finals. The Belgian momma sailed into the semi finals by beating Serena William’s sister, Venus William in the fourth round and Chinese player Li Na in the quarter final.

Serena Williams admits Kim to be a great player and she is happy for her successful comeback, at the same time she also feels that she can knock her out of the tournament.

On the other hand, Kim has nothing to lose and she is playing with no expectations as well as no pressures. She hopes to put up the best of her performance in the semi finals.

The two players have not played each other since 2003. Clearly the odds are towards the defending champion Serena Williams. She is defending her title and won here thrice. She would love to take another one into her account. But surprises can also see working mom Kim contesting in the Flushing Meadows this summer for the Grand Slam title.
