Should Pakistan be allowed to play IPL 2010?
After the 26/11 terror attack in Mumbai the ties between India and Pakistan has further severed, as a result the impact has extended to the game of cricket. The Pakistan cricket board restricted their players from being part of the IPL this year, but now the team is looking to make a return in the 3rd season of the IPL.
The team has recently been alleged of match fixing and previously the teams pace bowler Mohammad Asif was facing drug charges. Amidst all the tension and controversies surrounding the Pakistani team is the reigning argument; should the Pakistan players be involved in the IPL 3? This question has mixed reactions; many Indian cricket fans feel that it is good if Pakistan is kept out of the IPL 3 and some ardent cricket lovers feel there is no harm in including their players in the IPL team.
And now the Pakistan Cricket Board has also given a nod to its players to participate in the IPL 2010. The Board’s Chairman Ejaz Butt has expressed interest in the lucrative league and has conveyed the same to the IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi.

Well, the argument on this issue will continue to remain fresh but in the broader interest and for the spirit of the game Pakistani players’ inclusion in the IPL 3 will do no harm.














Update as on December 3rd 2009: Pakistan’s players have been cleared to participate in the IPL 2010 Season 3 after receiving the final government clearance they needed, from their country’s interior ministry.
Update as on December 8th 2009 – Pakistan cricketers will not feature in IPL 2010 as their board has failed to obtain their visas before the deadline for confirmation of participation, the league’s commissioner, Lalit Modi, has said. The franchises will now have to look for replacements for the Pakistan players they had signed, he said.
