Sadly for South Africa although they had put up a decent and defendable total they could not get control of the English batsmen and the visitors easily chased the total giving them a 1-0 lead in the ODI series.

It should be noted that the first match had been a rain spoiler and washed out. So there will be only 3 more matches left now and after the loss of their previous match the Proteas will be looking forward to seize this second one to even the series and add excitement to the ongoing series.

They need to work on their fielding as well as bowling and looks like Jacques Kallis’ absence is felt in the team although they are a bunch of talented cricketers on their side. They need to come with a positive frame of mind and at least give brave fight to the visiting England team.

England although riding good after 1-0 lead will not be complacent and the captain definitely know that Proteas will come charging back. He will have to develop some strategies and work on them so they can dominate the hosts. Strauss can heave a sigh of relief because Staurt Broad might come and play and so will Graeme Swann who’s already started training.
