Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 1st ODI Live Cricket Score

The scorecard reads 2-0 in favor of Sri Lanka in the five-match one day series. Pakistan faces an uphill task from here and will have to think of a few ingenious plans. Match will be played on the same ground in Dambulla that hosted the first two.

With their batting in tatters, and bowling shining only in spasms, a drastic change in situation looks rather unlikely. Pakistan does have a few batsmen in Younis Khan, Yousuf Youhana, Misbah Ul Haq and Shahid Afridi, who can change the complexion of any game single-handedly. They however look out of touch and need magic touch to change the scenario.

Pitch is doing just too much at the start and one feels that Pakistan has a realistic chance only if they bat second. They must also think of a strategy to use the power plays. It may help to send Afridi up the order; maybe even open the innings.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s bowling has been up to the mark, aided by the pitch situation. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, has not been exceptional but has ever been formidable on its own soil. Muralitharan, Jayasuriya, Sangakkara and Jayawardhane are all class acts and new players seem to relish playing under the new captain Sangakkara. Now is the time for Pakistan to throw the last dice.
