May 2009 saw the rise of a new star in the form of Lyoto Machida, when he electrified the entire UFC World with his mixed martial art and scored a stirring knockout win over Rashad Evans. Now, on this Saturday, October 24, 2009, ‘The Dragon’ is going to make his first UFC light heavyweight title defense when he squares of against Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua, a former PRIDE star. Shogun is coming into this match with consecutive knockout victories over Chuck Liddell and Mark Coleman.
In another co-feature of the pay-per-view, two of another young and contender for heavyweight title will clash against one another when an unbeaten Velasquez will be taking on the ‘Big’ Ben Rothwell, former IFL star. This bout promises to be amongst the most memorable ones of the year.
