This year, 2010 sees the 139th British Open – taking place at the historic St. Andrews Golf Course in Scotland from Thursday July 15 to Sunday July 18, 2010 — which will see the famous 17th “Road Hole” (one of the most famous hole in golf), lengthened for the first time in over 100 years.
One of the hottest tickets in the world of the sport, the 2010 British Open will feature the top golf pros gathering at St. Andrews to compete for the historic Claret Jug trophy against defending champion Stewart Cink. In his first championship win ever, the Alabama native won the 2009 British Open by beating eight-time major winner and five-time Open champion Tom Watson in a four hole playoff.
