English Premier League – Aston Villa v Portsmouth Live
Date: Saturday, 19th September, 2009, Time: 15:00 UK
Venue: Villa Park

Aston Villa just defeated Birmingham with little changes in their playing strategy with more emphasis on defense. Villa boss Martin O’Neill is of the opinion that his team did not exert any additional pressure to win this game and additionally it was a game where there were very few chances.

However, they are keen to better their record in the upcoming match against Portsmouth. The team will miss experienced player like Downing who is injured. But the truth is Villa has been playing better with each match since their first day loss to Wigan Athletic.

On the other hand Portsmouth is still in the disaster mode and will look to switch to some motivation mode to have any chance to be in the EPL standings table with some good wins. This particular premier league tournament has been the worst ever for the Paul Hart’s men and their performance is being written off by many. The truth is that there has been too much of changes and that’s hurting the team more than anything to give them a taste of success in any of the matches played so far in the league.

As if it’s not enough Paul Hart had to still wait outside the therapy room for his men to join and bolster the team; hard luck it looks like. It’s like now or never for them and the rock-bottom Pompey team has to put up a fight against the O’Neill men whether or not they are ready for the Saturday’s match.
