Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix 2009 Highlights

Raikonnen Gets Ferrari’s First 2009 Win at Belgian F1 Grand Prix. Giancarlo Fisichella Comes 2nd.

In this formula one season this ING Belgian Grand Prix tournament will be the 12th F1 race scheduled for Aug 30th at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, near Spa in Belgium. The circuit length is 7.004 km with the number of laps being 44. Total race distance covered is 308.052 km. Formally, it’s the LXV ING Belgian Grand Prix.

After the European Grand Prix in Valencia, this circuit is a more challenging one. This circuit of Spa has very high speed corners and is quite different from the one in Valencia. The surrounding countryside of this circuit is breathtakingly picturesque and with expectation that the rain God will not be a spoilsport the people are excited about this tournament.

In the earlier seasons it was the Ferrari team that won the Belgian Grand Prix. Last year it was won by Felipe Massa while the previous three was won by Kimi Raikkonen. However, this year Ferrari will miss out ob Felipe Masa as he is still recovering from Hungarian Grand Prix crash and his likely replacement will be Luca Badoer. Despite finishing last in Valencia, Luca Badoer will compete in the 2009 Formula One ING Belgian Grand Prix in a positive note.

Friday August 28, 2009 will see practice sessions and the qualifying will be on Saturday and wait for the race in Sunday August 30, 2009.
