Fulham v Chelsea Live Score & English Premier League Highlights – 23rd August 2009

Fulham v Chelsea EPL 2009

English Premier League: Fulham vs. Chelsea
Venue : Craven Cottage
Date, kick off : August 23 2009, 16:00 UK

The Fulham has emerged as a strong team from the time Roy Hodgson has taken charge of the team; i.e. 2007.

Chelsea on the other hand will be facing their strong opponents at the Craven Cottage on Sunday. Fulham opened the season with a victory against Portsmouth, which was an indication of their tremendous form that they have carried forward from the previous season.

Still, Hodgson was in no mood to celebrate the team’s victory over the Portsmouth, as Andy Johnson suffered a serious injury that will keep him out of the game for a couple of months. Erik Nevland is likely to replace Andy Johnson and Damien Duff is also in the line to make an entry to the side. It will be Zamora and his antics interesting to watch.

As for Chelsea it was predicted that the side would clinch the Premier League’s title before the beginning of the season. They have so far defeated Hull City and Sunderland so far in the league. Carlo Ancelotti might keep the squad unchanged for the match against Fulham.

But even in the absence of Yuri Zhirkov the team played well. He might well return to practice in a couple of days. And, Juliano Belletti, Joe Cole, Alex and Paulo Ferreira will be absent from the side, as they have still not recovered from their injuries. But having kickbutting Hull City and Sunderland, Fulham shouldn’t be any problem for in form Chelsea and they will make attempt to be in the race for the title.
