Liverpool v Aston Villa Live Score & English Premier League Highlights – 24th August 2009

liverpool vs aston villa epl 2009

Liverpool and Aston Villa will take a one on one at the Anfield on Monday night. It could well reveal the strengths of the respective teams. When they have met last at the same ground Liverpool had an upper hand over the Aston Villa and they could go 5 goals over nil. Shall we expect a grand repeat of the same?

Maybe yes, we should be. Because Benitez team had crushed Stoke City by 4-0 and they will look to consolidate their supremacy if Martin O’Neill’s young team can give up.

The young Villa team has been losing more than consistently and they will need to kick this habit before it overwhelms them in the Premier League season. While they have lost in the hands of what looks like a weak Wigan in this season of Premier League, before that they are crushed by Rapid Vienna, ‘a not very well known to be strong’ Austrian club during the first leg of Europa League match.

This match Liverpool might give call to the new sign up Sotirios Kyrgiakos.

Aston Villa on the other hand has mounting injury concerns and the sooner they learn to deal the better for them. For the upcoming match at Anfield, Curtis Davies could be a doubtful and so will be Luke Young.

Martin O’Neill will now have to give a SOS call to John Carew who had missed the opening matches, and there has been no replacement to Carew so far (read looks like).
