Liverpool might not have expected a shocker from Tottenham Spurs, but the team will have to leave behind the loss to spurs and look forward to start their winning season, because a win at home will mean a lot to them. The Liverpool will face Stoke City at Anfield on Wednesday night.

No doubt the defeat to Spurs on the opening day came as great disappointment to the Rafa Benitez and his men. He admits his side will need to improve so much to be reckoned as an attacking force to overcome the Tony Pulis men.

During the last season campaign Stoke had been the only team to halt Liverpool from scoring. The Red Devils will expect that the Potters will show the same grit and courage this time too.

Unfortunate that Gerrard’s goal was not considered legal; Liverpool could not take three points at the Anfield during the last season. Benitez cannot afford to make similar mistake again tomorrow.

Stoke on the other hand look pretty well managed as well as disciplined in their defence line up. Talk about their midfield they are all physical and very strong and athletic.

They started the campaign with a flyer against Burnley and will try and trouble the home side. While James Beattie and Ricardo Fuller can be really attacking and testing Liverpool’s defence, Rory Delap could pressurize the Liverpool.

It will be interesting to see Liverpool’s strategy.
