Stage 20 - Longjumeau > Paris Champs-Élysées
The ultimate stage of the 2010 Tour de France, with its spectacular finish on the beautiful Champs-Élysées, will also be this seasons briefest, it’s only 102.5 km. Occasionally, stages can be shorter owing to bad weather conditions, but in usual tour conditions the last shortest stage was in 1989, between Bourg d’Oisans and Villard-de-Lans. It was only 91.5 km and was dominated by Laurent Fignon. He believed that the 50 second lead he held over Greg LeMond would be enough to triumph in Paris, but at the final, he lost by only 8 seconds.

Stage 20 begins in the historic town of Longjumeau in the Essonne department & ends on the world’s most beautiful avenue.

Le tour’s most recent winner was Alberto Contador of Spain while Andy Schleck came second & Lance Armstrong 3rd. The maillot jaune (yellow jersey) has been won by Lance Armstrong in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005 (seven consecutive years)!
