Atletico Madrid vs Valencia La Liga 2009

Valencia v Atletico Madrid -- Preview

Atletico Madrid will go to Valencia to play them and trust me it’s a must-win situation for these so-so teams. While Atletico looks for those elusive 3 points away from home.

After the draw against Almeria there were rumors as to firing of their coach Abel Resino. While the truth is not known Resino is working some plans to bring his team a little up on the Primavera Division table. Roberto urged his team mates to retrospect and generate some positive result at Valencia, well that means a lot to them.

Sadly, they were about to win against Almeria, but the last moment changed the match result to a draw.

Roberto was quoted of saying, “all of the team members look forward to coming to work and we’re aware that we have the chance to win and resolve this situation every three days. Now we have to grit our teeth and fight to achieve our goals.

While there is a big list of injureds plaguing the side and rubbing salt to the wounds, Resino believes they have what it takes to win at Valencia. Raul Garcia, Ignacio Camacho and Mariano Pernia are ruled out and Alvaro Dominguez, Leandro Cabrera and Sergio Asenjo also walk out of the team after getting call from under-20 world cup squad.

Valencia too hasn’t been doing great; they have had a good start but failed to pick the momentum from it. They have almost lost badly with Getafe and so no wonder Hedwiges Maduro is earnest for a come back match and they believe it could be possible with Atletico and they have advantage of playing in front of home crowd.
