Real Madrid v Villarreal Live Score, Highlights Spanish La Liga Primera Division Results -- 23/09/2009

Villarreal v Real Madrid -- Preview

Villarreal is lying low in terms of spirit as well as standing at the La Liga table with just two points while Real Madrid is on its high maintaining its top slot with straight wins and nine points in its pocket.

Besides languishing at the bottom of the La Liga points table, as if rubbing salt to the wounds Villarreal is also plagued with injuries as the Brazilian-born Marcus Senna has been ruled out of game owing to muscle injury. He will most likely not play in the tournament most likely.

Villarreal coach Ernesto Valverde was the last man to have speculated such a condition for his team, but he hopes that his team will gear up with full fitness to at least pose a tough fight with Real Madrid.

Real Madrid is going great guns and defeating Xerez 5-0 just speaks of the strength the team has. No wonder the team is in high spirits but they simply cannot relax looking at their past goals and laurels. Their ace player Rudd Van Nistelrooy has sustained an injury during the last match and is ruled out of action in the forthcoming matches.

Earlier it was Liverpool transferee Xabi Alonso who sustained an injury in the Champions League victory against FC Zurich. He is also out of field and action. Despite ruing critical members’ injuries, the team seems to be playing well and in all likelihood will take a good win against even the Villarreal too, just if they don’t get overconfident.
