October 2009 – FIFA World Cup 2010 Qualifying Highlights

world cup qualifier highlights 2010

The 2010 World Cup Football is getting better by everyday, and the 200 teams from world over are bracing themselves to just squeeze into the playing qualifier teams.

To find a berth among 32 teams that will qualify for the finals of the tournament, which will be held in South Africa was no small thing and there is already a list of 19 nations that have qualified for the 2010 World Cup: They include: South Africa who is the host, Japan, Australia, South Korea, North Korea, Brazil, Ghana, Holland, Paraguay, England, Spain, Ivory Coast, Germany, Serbia, Italy Denmark, Netherlands, Chile, Mexico and USA. There are teams that are still sweating to find a place in the final 32, we don’t see Argentina in the team of 19 and in all likelihood it should get its place cemented in the world final teams list.

The teams that look strong on the group tables include: Denmark from Group 1 and it has played 9 matches and won six, drawn 3 and lost none; Germany from Group 4 which has played 9 matches and won 8 and drawn one; then Spain must be riding high on confidence as it has won all the 9 matches it has played so far. And, from Group 6 England is topping the table with 8 wins out of the 9 they played. In the Group 7 Serbia is ruling the roost with 7 wins out of 9 and from the Group 8 Italy sits on top with 6 wins out of 9 matches. In Group 9 Netherlands has won all the 8 matches it has so far played.

Amongst the African nations Ghana from Group D has all the four matches they have played and Ivory Coast ahs four games out of five. Brazil, Chile and Paraguay from South America are strong contenders of the World Cup. USA and Mexico are reasonably good. Australia, Japan, South and North Korea have also done reasonable well to occupy a place in the World Cup finals.asas
